Essay on electromagnetic wavesRadiation is the emission of energy in the form of electromagnetic waves or moving subatomic particles; an example of radiation is electromagnetic radiation. This is a form of radiant energy that travels through space via electromagnetic waves. These waves can be found in the electromagnetic spectrum. This is the range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. The range of waves in the electromagnetic spectrum is from radio waves to gamma rays, the waves in between consist of infrared, visible and ultraviolet waves. In this spectrum frequency and wavelength play an important role in the type of wave present. At different frequencies (the amount of waves per second) and wavelengths (the length of the wave measured from peak to peak) there are different waves, as these factors change, the property of the wave also changes. In this essay I will talk about ultraviolet radiation. In this diagram you can see the electromagnetic spectrum. Shows the different types of waves. It also shows the wavelength of the waves, since the wavelength changes and the properties of the wave also change. The sun emits different types of radiation, most of the radiation reaches the earth's surface. The sun's heat comes from infrared radiation. While the light and colors we distinguish are caused by visible radiation. Infrared and visible radiation are not harmful under normal circumstances. The high-energy part of the spectrum is ultraviolet radiation, a known carcinogen (cancer-causing agent). Both UVA and UVB radiation from ultraviolet radiation reach the Earth's surface. Exposure to both increases the risk of melanoma and other skin cancers. UVC radiation (also part of ultraviolet radiation... center of paper... n D has an important use, creating strong bones to help the body prevent breaks and fractures, including diseases such as rickets and osteomalacia. “Ricks and osteomalacia are similar diseases, the latter affects young children while rickets affects adults. They are both horrible diseases. The effects of both diseases are irreversible and to contract either of these two diseases a person has to suffer of a vitamin D deficiency.” (Ultraviolet waves) Therefore, to prevent this, vitamin D is essential. Although large amounts of ultraviolet radiation are unhealthy, however, if you consider that it releases vitamin D, we should be able to stay a little out in the sun. However, if you plan to be outside for a long time while the sun is shining, don't forget to protect yourself: the more ultraviolet radiation in your body, the greater the danger to your skin.!.
