Topic > We must stop air pollution now - 951

There are approximately seven billion people in the world. Most of these people own cars and live in big cities. Beijing, China is known for having the most polluted air in the world. China has around 400,000 factories that work every day creating air pollution. Pollution is becoming a big problem in the world. Pollution affects everything from the plants we grow to the earth's ozone layer. Some air pollution is so bad in some parts of the world that breathing the air is equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. Pollution doesn't just harm people, it also harms the land and soil in which we plant our crops. Air pollution is a problem that needs an efficient and cost-effective solution for the world to be a better place in the future. Air pollution affects many people around the world. Air pollution is damaging our ozone layer by allowing the sun's harmful rays to penetrate more than ever before. Some people believe this is causing the polar ice caps in Antarctica to melt, making life difficult for polar bears because they need land to live on. Some people also believe that if the polar ice caps completely melted, sea levels could rise further, reducing the land to live on. Predictions have been made that if the polar ice caps were destroyed, there would not be enough land for all seven billion people to live on, because we would still need to grow crops to eat and raise livestock. Big cities are producing more air pollution than ever before. Some people cannot make a living to support their families in the suburbs, so they are forced to move to big cities. Cities are growing all over the world. One city that stands out the most is Dubai; has grown significantly in the last fifteen or twenty... middle of the paper... the air would be much cleaner. Air filters will clean the air that factories emit. This would be a big step towards reducing air pollution around the world. These solutions are cost-effective and will not create further problems for our society. If more people actively practice using these solutions, the air we breathe will become cleaner and clearer. We must all work together to purify the air and make it healthier. I don't want to see a dystopian world where air pollution continues to increase at an alarming rate and people have to wear gas masks. I want to see a utopian world where air pollution is reduced and the air is healthy. Work cited Berry, Wandell. “Faustian economics”. Bloom 644-52.Lynn Z.
