Due to globalization, organizations rely on international transactions to keep their business running. Even knowing how important international interactions are to the success of their companies, communication problems occur and someone involved in the transaction is left scratching their head. This is a result of lack of training and cultural understanding. This article will discuss the different implications that have been discussed in the world of international business. This paper will address some of the common barriers in international business communications, steps taken to alleviate these problems, and future considerations for international business communications. What are some common issues that can prove problematic in international business communications? Italian Language The English language is at least one of the official languages in over 80 countries (Wikipedia). By having a declared official language, this means that it is the language used within its government – its courts, parliament, administration, etc. – to manage its operations and conduct its affairs. ("Official Language", 1998.) English is spoken throughout the world, but it is not yet fully understood by all who speak it. Some of the reasons he lists include our complex spelling system, our rich sounds, how stress on certain words can change the entire meaning of a statement, and even how a single word can serve as an adjective, verb, or noun without change the spelling.
