The purpose of this essay is to analyze the Mexican Constitution of 1824 as a consequence of the Constitution of Cadiz, promulgated in Spain in 1812. For this reason, the writing begins by underlining the historical context of Spain at the time of the dissemination of its Constitution, and goes on to mention the group of creoles in the viceroyalty of New Spain. The French military incursion into Spanish territory is analysed, as are the liberal ideas that arose as a reaction to the forced establishment of a foreign monarch. As for America, the participation of delegates in the Cortes of Cadiz and the adaptation of the model of provinces and councils to the territory of New Spain are discussed. The theory of the text concludes with reference to the cases in which articles of the Constitution of 1812 were taken to formulate the liberal treaties of the Constitution of Apatzingán and finally of the Constitution of 1824, the first proclaimed in independent Mexico. Most of the sources used were research works produced by independent authors or with affiliations to educational institutions, such as the Autonomous University of Mexico. Many of the textual quotations come from traced testimonies offered by these historians as part of their anthologies; although works whose purpose is simply to archive letters or other historical documents have also been consulted The French invasion of Spain The famous Constitution was promulgated in the year 1812, when the patriotic forces of Spain retreated to Cadiz after the conquest of Andalusia in 1810.
