Q: Critically analyze the relationship between law and society on the basis of theoretical discussions on the subject? Discuss these developments in relation to various legal systems with particular focus on China/Russia/any of the Islamic states. The relationship between law and society is a deeply discussed and carefully examined topic. Law governs both modern and traditional societies. Oliver Wendell Holmes stated that “law embodies the history of a nation's development through many centuries.” For this reason the legal culture of each nation is distinct. A nation's past plays a highly detrimental role in the legal structure of society. Therefore, the law that governs the English and that which governs the Indians will be very far apart for the simple reason that the issues that need to be addressed at that level are different and since the law governs the fundamental existence of the nation, it is essential that it is shaped according to the citizens and culture of society. The interest in law by sociologists was technically an accident during World War II, when sociologists aimed to examine the relevance of law to racial problems. The interest was further deepened during incidents such as the Vietnam War or the World Trade Center tragedy. However, the perspective of each incident varies depending on the nationality of the sociologist. For example, a Russian sociologist would have a very different opinion on the Crimean issue than a Ukrainian one. The background and context of the research are crucial in determining how the sociologist will interpret the solution, simply because sociology is a study with room for interpretation. The only difference is in the degree of use of the form...... middle of paper ......in the present. A small incident can have a long-lasting effect on society, and the path that society follows for its further development could be entirely tangential. However, each of these elements is so deeply rooted in the functioning of society that these societies begin to revolve around it and appear to be, if not essentially are, crucial to the existence and survival of society. Russia is the best example of such societies because, despite wanting to eliminate the existence of the mafiya, it continues to depend on it for daily functioning. Both of these studies will continue to grow further interconnected and interconnected over the years as they have the same study base and subject matter. The relationship between law and society has developed in recent decades and is evidently destined to grow further.
