Many say that censorship limits what people can do, but others think differently. Censorship in the United States limits the freedom of what some can do and does not allow teenagers to read about important situations that could happen in life, listen to positive or negative music, and watch certain programs to experience. Many people think that censorship is unnecessary and that what is produced to the public, parents should be okay with. Books teach people everything they need to know about a certain topic, historical event, or how to deal with certain life situations. . Students in school especially need these books to develop, but it is sometimes difficult to acquire educational books when parents censor books for their children. “That Connecticut parent also said he was the best judge of what was acceptable for his children to read” (Gallo).
