More often than not, teachers are not adequately educated, trained, or experienced enough to cock the gun and fire during a high-stress crisis. A school teacher, Mrs. Robinson, commented: “I'm not sure I could even reach for a gun in a drawer or cupboard to use. I think my instinct would be to get my kids safe first” (CNNMoney). An untrained or newly trained faculty member with a firearm is more of a liability than an asset. The weapon could easily fall from the hands of a briefly trained teacher and end up in the hands of the offender. Even annual training is not enough for a teacher to be proficient enough in handling a firearm. Therefore, it is remiss to grant teachers with minimal training the right to carry firearms in school
