This idea would follow an approach that gives the company the ability to change its unethical behavior internally. Having the ability to change practices internally before external intervention can have many positive effects. The company is able to make changes, restore its integrity, maintain the business and retain employees. The reporting option involves external forces that could lead to repercussions for the company that could include restitution or even closure. If the company is closed, the consequences not only affect the business entity, but also all the employees are negatively affected when they would lose their jobs. Sometimes, however, when the company is unwilling to change its practices and conduct business more ethically, people are left with no choice but to report what is happening within the company to outside sources.
