“Leadership style is a pattern of behavior of leaders” used over time as perceived by others Blanchard et al., (2008). Hersey and Blanchard argued (Mark 1997) “the primary factors that influence an individual's response to leadership are the amount of direction and support provided by the leader.” According to Blanchard et al., (2008) “situational leadership styles are divided into four groups: directing, supporting, instructing and delegating”. Based on the author's opinion obtained from articles, especially from Hersey and Blanchard, the following examples define more in depth what these styles are and how the leader can identify a situation and apply the best leadership style.2.3.1 Style direction/telling (S1): This is where the leader provides particular direction on goals and roles and closely monitors followers' performance to provide frequent feedback on results. In other words, it is where the follower lacks the required knowledge and skills when it comes to carrying out a specific job. However, staff are interested and enthusiastic about the work and ready to learn it. In this case the leader must explain the topic of the work system in detail to the staff; it is more about the leader's ability to direct rather than support. Since employees have no past experience on these types of tasks, the leader's job is to ensure that employees understand what the task is and what is required of them to ensure that they both have a clear picture of the expected expectations. final results. The leader will have to work closely with the followers telling them exactly what to do and when to do it, because they have little expertise but are willing to learn, so a directing style is needed here. The followers here are in the front of...... middle of the paper ......interfering with the followers' work. Furthermore, at this level the followers have mastered the task; they are committed and highly motivated. With the right support from the leader, an individual can eventually become a successful person who demonstrates a high level of competence and commitment (Q4). In this situation it is better to decrease leadership and let followers take over. possible because the team works together excellently and has the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the task. If this team receives any of the other leadership styles, they will feel overly supervised and this will lead to irritation and frustration, so the leader will require to be low in supporting and directing behaviors. Their commitment and expertise are fully developed at this level and they can be trusted to get the job done without regular leadership or direction.
