The marketing mix is mainly composed of four variables: product, place, price and promotion. These variables are often called the four Ps. Many sources often describe the marketing mix as a recipe used to develop a viable marketing strategy, where each ingredient is used in different ways and at different times based on the product or service being used trying to market.
