According to the fact sheet of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICFE), a global organization active in more than 190 countries and territories through country programs and country committees “The enormous transnational trafficking The human trafficking industry generates approximately 10 billion dollars per year” (www.unicef.org). Even though child trafficking is an illegal and clandestine trade, there are still numerous cases of child trafficking that we know of. Nowadays, most countries have better laws to protect their citizens. Furthermore, as time goes by, people receive higher quality education and are more protected by the state and government, so it would be logical that there would be fewer criminals involved in human trafficking. However, the UNICEF website shows that “Every year, thousands of children in Benin and 1.2 million young people worldwide are victims of trafficking, 300,000 of them in Central and West Africa alone. “Child trafficking is a global phenomenon of unprecedented scale. It is one of the biggest human rights violations in the world today.' Said Mr. Duamelle” (Reine David-Gnahoui). From these data, more attention should be paid to juvenile cases, because children are the future of the country. Why do people have children if they cannot guarantee them a safe living situation? In my opinion, not only parents and the government, but also all levels of society are responsible for child trafficking. First, parents have a responsibility to teach their children threat awareness; secondly, children should actively receive effective knowledge on how to protect themselves through school education and parenting education; moreover, the government should play the most important role for each country.
