Organizational behavior is a topic that describes employee behaviors within a workplace. In this particular case, organizational behavior methods have been extensively described due to the multiple issues present in this case. This case was overall a failure due to team development and interdependence. The interdependence between Shalini, Sara, Philly and Rishi was not very cohesive and therefore made their behaviors reflect negatively. As interdependence and even development disappear, it is important to delve into other aspects to understand why this team did not work well together. From the beginning of the case, the FIS seemed to have started on the wrong foot. Although the team members chosen for this project had many qualifications as to why they were placed on one team, at the end of the project it wasn't all that effective. In this case the FIS project team appeared to have failed during the formation phase of team development. It was during this phase that the FIS team should really try to understand their position within the team. However, the team did not form well because it immediately grouped itself into smaller groups. This significantly affected the interdependence of the team because the interdependence was not successfully satisfied. With this particular project team, the interdependence had to be complete between them. There needed to be high interactions between each team member to successfully complete the project. After the failure of the formation phase and then interdependence, it seemed that the team was stuck in the stormy phase of development. Therefore, it made the standardization, execution and update phases unattainable. The failure in the training phase was even… middle of the paper… especially when his job was put at risk. The stressors he endured along with Shalini and other team members were daily annoyances caused by the team leader, Rishi, and Philly, the project manager. Over the course of this project, it became easy to see that there was little motivation within this team. There didn't seem to be a higher level of commitment due to the refusal to work as a team. A possible solution to this problem could have been to incorporate some group activities at the beginning of the project. If activities were incorporated, they could help the team understand their roles as team players, rather than allowing members to separate themselves from others. Overall, the work performance of this project was extremely poor as members did not work together as they should. The poor work performance of this team affected organizational commitment to FIS.
