Malaysia Intellectual Property CooperationMalaysia Intellectual Property Cooperation (PHIM) was established with the implementation of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Law 2002 on 3 March 2003 in Malaysia . Subsequently, this cooperation was renamed with the acronym PHIM becomes MyIPO on March 3, 2005 on the occasion of the inaugural National Intellectual Property Day. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was headed by Pejabat Cap Dagangan dan Jaminhak and thus this office was renamed Pejabat Cap Dagangan dan Paten in 1983. The office was managed by the Intellectual Rights Jurisdiction under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Subsequently, this ministry was modernized and the office was transferred under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, now well known as the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs among Malaysians, later changing its name to Property Division intellectual on 27 October 1990. This division played the major role in the Administered Patents Act 1983, Trademarks Act 1976 and Copyright Act 1987 in Malaysia. The division implemented some new laws such as the Industrial Designs Act 1996, the Integrated Circuits Layout-Design Act 2000 in 1999 and the Geographical Indications Act 2000 came into force in 2001. This division was necessary to react positively to the intellectual property developments both domestically and globally, hence it was incorporated and recognized as the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (PHIM). This company is responsible for developing and managing intellectual property in Malaysia. The Government has approved the establishment of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (PHIM) as a statutory body with full autonomy where...... middle of paper .. ....intellectual property assets within the company were protected. The MyIPO company not only protects the brands, logos, promotional materials, confidential information, confidential know-how, processes and store layout of the franchise, but will also play a role in court when an action is brought against "copies". MyIPO provides license for franchise business where the franchisor can operate the franchise business because it is the major move in growing the business, brand and reputation of the franchisor compared to non-franchise businesses. Furthermore, franchisors must provide training and commercial assistance to their franchisees. This helps ensure that all "branches" of franchisor businesses present a uniform business to the public. It also helps consumers meet their market expectations whenever they deal with a franchise.
