Topic > Vietnam: Lifestyle Immediately After the War and Lifestyle Now

War is the thing that everyone in this world wants to prevent the most because of the terrible effects it could cause to all of humanity. After the war between Vietnam and the United States in 1975, Vietnamese life changed in many ways, both positively and negatively. In this essay I will compare and contrast life in my parents' or grandparents' time, which is similar to life after the Vietnam War and life today in terms of standard of living, education, traffic, and entertainment. First of all I will talk about the differences in living standards between life now and life in my time. After the end of the Vietnamese Civil War, Vietnam faced many serious problems, including food. To provide for the needs that were very scarce at that time, the Vietnamese government had to use the budget subsidy system to provide these things to everyone equally. However, the food received is not enough to live and work normally. Furthermore, that budget also affects how people purchase items. For example, you can't buy the entire bike even if you can afford it because you have to buy the accessories separately. For this reason, it always takes a lot of time and effort to buy something. Nearly 40 years after the war, with international aid and the Vietnamese government's numerous development policies, this country has transformed into a new country whose economic development is much better than before. As a result, people's living standards improve and most of them work in well-paid jobs to buy enough food for their families. The way people buy furniture has also changed: as long as they have enough money, they can buy anything they want. Secondly, this part will make up...... half of the card ......x. For example, every family has their own television so they can stay home and enjoy some recreational programs. Also there are many entertainment centers such as water parks, cinemas, football stadiums... In conclusion, the time of parents and grandparents is much more difficult to live than today based on the comparison of living standards, education, traffic and fun; however, that difficult time may offer people a life with more peace and comfort than they do now.
