The film "The Secret in Their Eyes", directed by Juan José Campanella, captures the audience with its complex plot of love and murder. Benjamin Espósito and Irene Menéndez are united by the disturbing story of a young woman brutally raped and murdered: Liliana Coloto. Benjamin remains completely enchanted by her case because he can see his love for Irene reflected in it. Although this film has a wide variety of symbols, three of them; the color red, the letter A and the eyes manage to capture its essence. Different meanings can be attributed to the color red which faithfully portray the atmosphere of the film. Red signifies passion and desire. We see these allusions represented in several objects: the flower on Irene's desk, the curtains in her office, and the lamp in Benjamin's room. Most of Benjamin and Irene's scenes together, in fact, include the slight appearance of that color.
