Topic > Tolkien's love for mythology and his idea of creating a new language led him to create Middle English stories and tales set in Old England. Tolkien was always interested in academics because they provided a sense of stability. He loved learning and using his teaching and writing skills as a way to earn money. He is known for his dramatic recitations of Old English verse. (Jones 16) Many authors and literary writers were historians and geographers.
