Jane Addams was a settlement pioneer, public philosopher, sociologist, author, leader, and, most importantly, founder of Hull House in Chicago. He had many humble goals in his life and they were all successful. Addams wanted to help immigrants learn English and develop their social skills to become part of American society by educating them in the Hull Houses. He also wanted to minimize the gap between rich and poor. Addams also had a passion for children and wanted to make sure there was a place where little ones could be active in activities that were fun and took their mind and person off the difficulties around them. Jane Addams wanted to do more than just give immigrants a place to live and food to eat. Addams wanted to teach important lessons and knowledge that would be useful in building a better life in hopes of gaining information, working, and leaving Hull House.
