He was born on February 24, 1955 and founded Apple Inc. with his high school friend Steve Wozniak in 1976. But later in 1976, when Apple was about to go bankrupt, he returned as a consultant and interim CEO. It has made Apple profitable since near bankruptcy in 1998 (Walter Isaacson, 2013). From 1996 to 2011, he proved himself to be one of the world's best engineering leaders and made Apple the most innovative company in the world. WHY STEVE JOBS? Suddenly, some companies become hugely successful, while the rest sadly remain failures. There can be many reasons for this failure, but one of the main reasons is the lack of leadership qualities. There are many... middle of paper... blend of charismatic and tyrannical has been key to Apple's success. Furthermore, the embodiment of both these qualities to an extreme extent was highlighted in Steve is rare in other leaders, perhaps we as a team now believe: how this set of conflicting behaviors can coexist in Steve Jobs (in a single human being). Transformational leadership is an extension of transactional leadership.
