The ACARA is a collaborative curriculum document with government and stakeholders. It is responsible for the overall development and design of the curriculum across Australia, providing a set of teaching guidelines for each state and territory. This is a document containing descriptions to enable teachers to work on lesson planning, evaluation and reporting. It focuses on what is to be taught and what students are expected to learn from the curriculum, providing a basis from which each state and territory can work when putting together their own education programmes, etc. focuses on providing programs and information (links) etc. to help promote the education and development of students around the world. Parents, teachers, schools and communities, etc., have access to the programs and links provided by the Australian Curriculum in order to increase communication and encourage support from parents and communities, while providing additional assistance to students. There are also two key documents that act as guidance in developing the Australian Curriculum. These include the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians (2008) and the Australian Curriculum Form (2010). The Melbourne Declaration forms the basis on which the Australian curriculum is oriented. Engaging diversity through interdisciplinary perspectives, discusses the outline, report writing and guidelines. The aim is to structure curriculum design that emphasizes the importance of cognitive skills and interdisciplinary perspectives, while supporting the changing needs of the 21st century. However, the Form of the Australian Curriculum document serves as a key guideline for ACARA in developing three phases.
