The productivity of the company's equipment is comparable to that of its main competitors. It's a slightly different process than the larger national brewing companies, but it's still able to maintain a system that's comparable to other brewing companies. The effectiveness of the production control system helps in improving the company's product quality while remaining reducing costs. The company is constantly looking for ways to increase the effectiveness of its production. They want to ensure that the product is of the quality they expect and are always trying to improve the quality of the product. Cost saving is another factor they consider, but the company refuses to produce a product that is not of the quality they expect, regardless of the cost savings. This would result in Boston Beer Company creating more jobs outside the company than inside.
