There are flood stories from many cultures. Flood stories usually consist of a higher power flooding a civilization due to some act that angered the higher power. The stories are about a specific family and how the flood consumes the entire globe. There are so many cultures that tell the story of a great flood with many similar details that it is hard not to believe that it is not true, but whether the story of a great flood is true or not is up to the individual to decide. Judaism is the religion of which many Jews belong. Many Christian religions, such as Catholicism, also believe the same story as the Jews about the great flood. They believe that God was so angry with humanity's evil ways that he wanted to destroy them. He did this with a great flood that consumed the earth except Noah, his family, and the animals he saved. The story uses many religious elements, such as the dove, which represents the Holy Spirit. There are many objects and pieces such as statues, trinkets, paintings and things that have symbols or representations of Noah and the ark he built. The righteous man deserving of life was Noah. He discovered that Noah was a good man and believed that he should be saved. God commanded Noah to build an ark 450 x 75 x 45 feet, with three decks. Noah did as he was told. He and his family went onto the ark. There were eight people. They gathered pairs of numerous animals, so that they could reproduce after the end of the flood.
