Stop Motion Using a Camera – Stop-motion animation involves taking a series of photos of a model, then moving it slightly and taking the next photo. Then you put all the photos together and the small movements of the model look like a human-like action. Stop motion animation is basically just a series of photographs taken one after another. Objects are moved and filmed image by image to emphasize the small movements they make. Some examples of stop motion films are the original King Kong film and Star Wars. These were made using lots of small objects and puppets. At the time this was the only way to bring immobile objects to life on the screen. Other feature films made using the stop motion effect -• Corpse Bride by Tim Burton (2005) • Chicken Run (2000) • Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) • Coraline (2009) Cel Animation – Yes say that Cel animation is a method of using sheets of paper to draw cartoon frames. These sheets of paper are transparent so they can be superimposed on top of each other and then photographed. It is a very complicated and long process. Cell-based animation is where each cell plays and changes are made to the next cell. This continues until there is a series of cells. Each cell is slightly different from the previous one. It gives the appearance of movement and therefore animation. Some examples of cel-based animation are Disney films, especially Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. All CGI was hand drawn and painted in the film. CGI Animation – CGI is basically special effects on computer graphics. CGI is used in films, television programs and commercials, and in print media such as new...... middle of paper ......work. It had an effect on animation because it created new ways that animators could use to improve their animations. Katsuhiro Otomo - Katsuhiro Otomo, Japanese manga artist, screenwriter and director. He is best known as the creator of the manga film "Akira" and its animated film adaptation. Akira is a 1988 Japanese animated cyberpunk action film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo. This had an impact on animation as it used anime to create a film. This would mean that more and more animators will start using this type of animation in their shows and films. David McKee - David McKee is a British writer and illustrator, mainly of children's books and animations. Mr Benn is a character created by David McKee who appears in several children's books and in an animated television series of the same name originally broadcast by the BBC in 1971 and 1972.
