I always thought I would do the same, but after seeing my parents' marriage fall apart and my mother dealing with the new change in her life and feeling like she was lost and didn't have the skills to get a job and provide for herself, she felt like she had lost everything. I didn't want it. Luckily, my brother and I were practically grown up and headed out on our own. Seeing how my mother struggled with no education and no work experience, I made sure not to follow in her footsteps by working at an early age and getting my cosmetologist license. All the experiences I have had up to this date have transformed into the person I am today. I'm very good at appearing confident and in some areas of life I am. I have extreme compassion for those who cannot help themselves and for those who struggle to fit in. By finishing my degree in Human Services I will be able to do just that, and in the meantime find peace and move forward on my own.
