Just because they are exposed to new products through globalization does not necessarily mean they will abandon their own culture for it nor be profoundly affected by it. I believe that people can judge whether a product is right for them and, based on their beliefs and values, will make their own decision about it. Whether they approve of it or not, it is their judgment that matters because nowadays their values and traditions remain with them as they are innate. I firmly believe that cultural consumers around the world are not just puppets to be played with advertising and products. They are above all human beings with the ability to make decisions that are good for them. In this context, I agree that the world's cultural diversity is not threatened just because people from different cultures are exposed to different traditions that are not theirs. Let's face it, we cannot stop people from interacting nor can we stop the growth of the globalization of the world. For example, students in KwaZulu-Natal were asked about the American soap opera and what lessons they learned from it. One of the students, Sipho, replied that in the soap opera "Days of Our Lives", he learned the lesson that a man can tell a woman that he loves her. I feel like Sipho took a lesson from the soap opera just because he wanted to and mostly because it was correct according to his values and beliefs. What Sipho watched didn't completely change his mind about what he already knew but only opened his mind to a new way of seeing the same things he already knew. This shows that the products of one culture do not necessarily influence people of other cultures because they already have their own beliefs and foundations. Therefore, I firmly believe that globalization is not at all a pleasure for the cultural diversity of the world
