My research interests aim at the design and planning of eco-friendly urban housing models, with an innovative physical and social infrastructure to meet the residential, commercial and industrial needs of the present and future population. This includes urban spatial planning, focused on the complex relationship between urbanized land use and human settlements. I am particularly interested in the revitalization and development of projects in historic city centres, which aim to create safe, functional and ecologically sustainable urban environments. I am interested in researching how existing development can be modified to incorporate substantial design and smart growth policies, essentially infill, urban renewal and mixed-use development.
