I understand that leadership, a position of power and rank must be respected, but whenever it is used, if the leader can take on some characteristics of a servant leader, it will create a better follow-up. I quote Sun Tzu earlier as saying, “A leader leads by example, not by force.” (Stone, Russell, Patterson, 2004) and Tom Peter explained that “Sun Tzu leaders don't create followers, they create more leaders.” (Stone, Russell, Patterson, 2004) I believe this is very relevant in servant leadership.
