This world has more than seven billion people, but not everyone is a hero. In a previous life, there was a Native American named Natty Bumppo and he was considered an American hero. Being a hero is not an easy thing for a person, Natty Bumppo had done many things and helped others; as a result, people made him a hero. Each person has different traits or characteristics that make them who they are, and the characteristics that belonged to Natty Bumppo made him an American hero. Strength and humanity are two of Natty Bumppo's characteristics that made him a hero and those still exist today for hero traits. Strength is one of the important characteristics expected from any hero, because if a person is strong then he can resist. for someone else and help the weak person overcome something they are struggling with. In the story “The Last of the Mohicans”, Natty Bumppo had shown the characteristic of strength and defended someone else. Natty helped a militiaman escape from the fort so he could return home and protect his family from danger. Even though Natty knew that helping the man escape was against the British colonel's wishes, he still managed to get the man out of the fort and out of danger through many difficulties. He didn't regret helping the man escape, but he felt good. As a result of what Natty had done, the British colonel arrested him and ordered Natty to be hanged to death but Natty was still strong and faced the colonel's punishments. In heroic characteristics, there is a need for humanity, because if humanity is lacking, then the person would not care. Natty Bumppo has human characteristics in many stories. For example, in chapter seven of the story titled “The D...... middle of paper ...... someone who was in need, even if it endangered those who helped him. Firefighters or soldiers are heroes because they fight for others and find themselves in dangerous situations. Both traits are important for a person considered a hero. Two of the characteristics that make a person a hero are strength and humanity and these traits are still seen in a hero today. From the example of Natty Bumppo, he was a very strong and humane man. He helped people when he knew the punishment for him was death, but he did it anyway. Natty didn't like hurting anyone because she felt it was wrong to hurt any living being. Natty Bumppo was a nice young man and his personality was already very human, which makes him an American hero. Heroes today still have traits like Natty Bumppo because without these traits they couldn't help anyone in trouble.
