I feel like if I were to collide head-on with a small car I could just drive over it. I also think my son is safer in the back seat due to the large bed of the truck. I think a large pickup truck is safer than a passenger car just because of its size. As previously mentioned, Car and Driver said that a pickup truck's spacious cabin keeps passengers safer. I completely agree with this. The Ford F-250 has such a large interior that, in the event of a crash, it would take a lot of force for another vehicle to reach the truck's occupants. According to the Fleet.ford.com website, there is 40.8 inches of headroom in the front seat of the Ford pickup. The rear seat has nearly the same amount of space at 40.4 inches. Consumerreports.com says a small car like the Chevrolet Cruze has only five inches of headroom in the front seat. Some cars, like sports cars, have even less space. This means that in a collision the car occupant is more likely to suffer a head injury than the truck occupant. Legroom in the Ford truck and Chevrolet Cruze are both forty-three inches. Legroom is not as important as headroom, broken legs will heal but head injuries can be more complicated. The wide bed of the Ford pick-up guarantees the safety of the occupants in the event of a rear-end collision. Truck beds can be anywhere from six and a half feet to
