Topic > Personality Theory by Gordon Allport - 1118

Much of his work has carried over into the current time period and continues to grow and influence how we as humans view the human psyche. All who follow Allport's teachings have differentiated themselves with their own variation of the topic that will continue to grow independently. There are several contributions to the topic of personality which includes heredity versus environment, freedom versus determinism, and optimist versus pessimism. All accomplished through influential psychologists that include Raymond Cattell, Thomas Pettigre, Stanley Milgram and many others, some of whom were students Allport himself had taught to take his world-famous teachings and configure them to create an even greater impact. Allport's contributions have had significant effects on the current time period through to the next generation, not only by providing new thoughts on personality, but also through the belief that it is possible to create one of your own.
