PURPOSE STATEMENT“The path to success is the path of continuous pursuit of knowledge.” ― Napoleon HillRespected Graduate Admissions Committee, I would like to introduce myself as a prospective student of Arizona State University. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITD&M) Kancheepuram, an autonomous institute under Government of India MHRD. Academics have always been my stronghold. Since my childhood I had been at the top of my class. This academic excellence enabled me to score 95.7% in my 12th standard. I also achieved first percentile in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), a common entrance test for leading institutes in India, which paved the way for me into IIITD&M Kancheepuram (an Institute of National Importance on par with IITs ). The institute is the first of its kind in our country and focuses more on the design aspects of core engineering curriculum. I am totally a beginner in programming when I started my degree. But it was our faculty that created the zeal in me towards programming and I was introduced to C, C++. In the second year of my university studies I took courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Organization and Microprocessors which increased my analytical and logical thinking about algorithms. While studying Computer Organization, I designed the ALU, using Verilog HDL, which performs signed and unsigned addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and logical comparisons. During my second summer vacation I developed my interest in web designing and started developing web applications by learning PHP, HTML and MySQL. I took an online course in...... middle of paper ......ls gaining experience and exposure to diverse student bodies and faculty. In summary, I believe that my serious determination to study, my projects, my love for technology and a strong academic background in various areas of computer engineering will help me in my graduate studies and research. Attending your esteemed institution would give me the opportunity to receive world-class education under the guidance of eminent professors. I would consider my admission to Arizona State University not only as a great honor, but also as a great social responsibility and a challenge to prove myself for the betterment of humanity. Since my entire school and college life has been dedicated to the students, faculties and staff of various states of my nation, I am confident that I could socialize effortlessly with the multinational community in the United States.
