Topic > Commercial Analysis of an Advertisement: "Like A Girl"

This shows that the phrase like a girl should not be used as an insult because many girls who reach puberty wonder if they are strong enough to do the same things as men Do. This commercial represents how a woman reaches puberty and her confidence should not decrease. Hitting puberty should be a good thing, not a bad thing. When men reach puberty they are considered stronger and this should be the same for women. Women who have gone through puberty may reject parts of the ad because they may gain more confidence instead of losing it. Some men may accept parts of the ad by accepting that the phrase like a girl applies to every girl. Not every girl is strong, runs fast, or throws like an athlete, but that shouldn't make women fall into the phrase like a girl. In the commercial they asked a girl what she advised girls who were told they were doing girly things. The girl said you have to keep doing what you are doing because even if you don't do it well you will get better and you shouldn't be discouraged about being a girl. The company always makes girls feel confident because they show how reaching puberty is just the beginning of becoming better and stronger
