How to motivate your staff My problem definition states; "How to maintain a motivating work environment?" The purpose of my research is to analyze the methods used to maintain a motivating work environment. The reason I choose motivation as a research topic is because I find it very difficult for managers to retain their employees and maintain low staff turnover. Retaining your employees is not easy and knowing that employees are different people with different ideas, perceptions and characteristics makes it easy to understand that employees leave for different reasons, so different methods of motivation are needed. Through my learning objectives I hope to learn how to motivate employees and all my learning objectives relate to the process of motivation and I have used a few different motivation methods as learning objectives. First I will provide an explanation of what motivation means and write down some communication skills that a manager needs to communicate effectively with employees so they understand what motivates them. I will also write about some motivation methods that managers can use to motivate their employees. In this learning report my learning objectives are the following questions: 1. What is motivation?2. How important are a manager's communication skills to keeping employees motivated?3. How to motivate staff through recruitment?4. Employees and selection process.5. How can training motivate employees?6. The importance of performance appraisal.7. How can incentive programs motivate employees?8. How to reduce staff turnover? Employees and the selection process. ...... half of the paper ...... Page 10Summary Page 11Conclusion Page 12Bibliography Page 13Bibliography1.
