As greenhouse gases have been emitted into the atmosphere in large quantities since the industrial revolution, the earth begins to warm unnaturally. Even a small change of 1° or 2° Celsius in the Earth's temperature would result in the loss of ice in the Arctic and the inundation of major coastal cities. Today, China accounts for 23%, the United States of America (19%) and the European Union (13%) making them the top three emitters in the world. These states and other large contributors are all highly industrialized countries with large populations, which mainly explains why their emissions are so high. If we don't solve this problem, future generations will have to deal with the rapid expansion of deserts, the loss of cities, shortages of fresh water and food, and the transformation of the Amazon and other rainforests into savannas. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) has tried to solve the problems mainly through the Kyoto Protocol, but its withdrawals and other factors have made it ineffective in the battle against climate change. Governments' fear of harming private industries is one of the main reasons why attempts to achieve climate sustainability have been so difficult in the past. The United States is moving towards alternative energy sources and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Although global warming policy is managed by the federal government, states and regions are taking steps to reduce the damage they cause to the world. Ten states in the United States of America... halfway through... users still believe that only if developing countries take significant steps to reduce climate change will the efforts be successful and demonstrate the power of change climate. UNFCCC. Research should focus on how to improve existing energy sources that do not affect the climate. Wind and solar energy could be very effective and, with government support, could improve efficiency and provide enough energy for people. The time to reverse the effects of climate change is short and even if all emissions stopped today, it would still take years for the effects of the damage already caused by man to disappear. “We risk consigning future generations to an irreversible catastrophe. The security and stability of every nation and people, our prosperity, our health and our security are in danger and we are running out of time to reverse this trend...”
