Roller coasters, the star of an amusement park and an achievement in physics, date back decades. Throughout history there is no doubt that people have created countless amazing coasters. They could be record holders, they could do the impossible, or they could inspire the design of many more roller coasters. However they are all made thanks to our knowledge of the laws of physics. The roller coaster symbolizes how we, over the years, can use this knowledge to our advantage. Roller coasters are a way to express physical science while providing safe (if designed correctly) fun for all. Throughout history many different roller coasters have been made over the years. In the 17th century, Russia created the Russian Ice Slide. Inspired by the playground slide, they were giant wooden slides 70 feet to 80 feet tall covered in ice, and the sleds made of ice or wood.
