Question 1Blue Nile is one of the largest jewelry companies selling jewelry products online. Blue Nile formed in 1999 (Arthur, 2007). It is recognized as the company with the largest sales volume in the world. It has been recognized by Internet Retailer, an American magazine, as being established as larger than the three largest jewelry retailers conducting their business online. It has won numerous business awards in its historic times. It was also ranked by consumers as the leading company in Internet-based customer service in 2002. It is the only known jewelry company to have received this award. Blue Nile sold wedding and engagement rings to more than 80,000 partners between 2000 and mid-2006. The Internet retailer also recognized Blue Nile as the leader with the best website in 2007. It also received an award from Kiplinger's in 2006 as the best leading online jewelry retailer. Blue Nile has a very large market share in the United States and has dominated the market everywhere. This helped Blue Nile make huge profits which allowed it to maneuver and become the largest jewelry company whose services are online. Customer support is an area where many companies fail to succeed, but Blue Nile has done its best to overcome this weakness. Most of its customers do not move to other companies due to the satisfaction they get from Blue Nile. Its prices are also fair and reasonable compared to those of the competition. For example, a couple from Hawaii was able to save a large amount of money by purchasing from Blue Nile, compared to other companies.
