Topic > Analysis of Sycamore Row by John Grisham - 1070

I chose to represent my summer reading book Sycamore Row by John Grisham with a fake Facebook page. I chose to use Lettie Lang as the character for my Facebook page because it allowed me to show the connections she had with all the other characters in the book. Lettie starts out in the book as a quiet housekeeper for Seth. Then her name became known to everyone when they learned that Seth, Lettie's boss, had left her over $20 million in his will when he died. Lettie's first post on the newsfeed was when she learned that her boss Seth Hubbard had hanged himself after being killed. fighting cancer. This was an important part in the book because with Seth's death we learn that he had made a will just hours before he died. In this will he eliminated his entire family and left much of his estate to Lettie, his African-American maid. This created many problems and caused conflict in the story. The second post on his newsfeed was from Jake saying he had received Seth's handwritten will that he had made just hours before hanging himself. In this letter Jake was appointed as the estate's solicitor, which meant that he was in charge of making sure the will was followed up. This allowed him to get a steady paycheck that couldn't have come at a better time because his family was still grieving from the fire in their house. The third assignment was when Jake filled out Seth's handwritten will in court. This was an important part in the book because no one knew about the handwritten will and it was a shock to many people. The original will did not exclude Seth's family but instead divided the estate equally among the remaining family members. With this new will it created a lot of problems for every......middle of paper......prison because Lettie's son was in Jain and was the most influential person for her when she fired her original lawyers . I included a family together because he had a large family that he spent his time with when he wasn't in court. I use the image of a burning house because, as we learned from Ancil, Lettie's house was burned down by Seth's father when she was just a child. Finally, I used the image of a large house because Lettie worked as a cleaner for Seth for many years. I used a fake Facebook page to represent my summer reading book Sycamore Row by John Grisham. I chose to use it as a way to represent it because it was the best way to show all the details of the book while making it clear even to someone who had never read it before. It also allowed me to show the roles of each character in the book and who they were.
