In John 11:40 Jesus said to Martha “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” The Hebrew word for faith is “emunah” which means “to believe” and “to act” on that belief. If you placed this definition in what the Messiah said to Martha it would be similar to this: “Didn't I tell you that if you “believe” and “act” you will see the glory of God?” This is the basis of faith, which is rooted in faith and action. As Hebrews 11:6 says, it is impossible to please God without faith, for “whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he is a reward for those who seek him.” One of the primary ways individuals make religious faith personal is through the experience of salvation. Acts 16:31 says if you believe in the Lord Jesus you will be saved. A great biblical example of this is Noah because through faith he “believed” and “acted” on the word of God: “By faith Noah, having been warned by God concerning events still unseen, in reverent fear built an arch for the salvation of his family. . By this he condemned the Word and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith” (Hebrews 11:7). Salvation is an experience, and today's individuals base their faith on experience.
