Aptitude model judges are given the best prediction on a given case to determine how to vote. The rational model is the last model that feeds on the other models. Judges in this model vote based on their preferences and not based on parties. I will describe how each model relates to each other. The legal model is the behavior of judges explaining the law while making decisions. Judges tend to make judgments based on past precedent. Judges adhere to the legal model for public consumption.
