For example, when I first joined the marching band I had no idea what we were trying to accomplish in this organization. Amazing, after being in the band and serving the organization by volunteering, going to band meetings and rehearsals. I learned what we wanted to achieve and how we were expected to achieve this before I even had a leadership position in the band. To do these things you must first have gone through the process of serving your organization first, this way you can clearly identify the common goal and understand everyone's points of view to achieve this common goal and be a good leader. My second reason why I believe in servant leadership is because it shows commitment and leadership to the organization you are serving. As we discussed in the real colors activity, the closest color I associated with was the color gold. The color gold meant that I believed in loyalty and caring for my organization that I am serving and in being a help to others by being thoughtful.
