My parents had planned to take turns driving to reduce the arrival time, but there was a heavy storm that night so they decided we should check in in a hotel. Throughout the night the thunder from the storm increased in volume, causing none of us to sleep. Around five in the morning I heard my parents discussing whether we should travel or not. My brothers and I made it clear that we didn't want to waste a day of travel in a hotel. My parents and grandmother discussed this for a few minutes and decided it would be a waste of time to stay. Once the decision was made, we had breakfast and continued our journey. After being on the road for about an hour, we found ourselves in an isolated area of ​​Sinaloa. The only things in sight were trees, grass, some farm animals and other travellers. The road we were traveling on split into two narrow lanes. One lane dedicated to those going south and the other to those traveling north. The lanes were divided by a ditch about 5 feet deep and 10 feet wide. As we traveled on the narrow road we noticed the weather starting to change. Around 9:00 raindrops began to fall and
