The Progressive Movement was an attractive idea to many Americans. As America continued to advance, the people needed a government to change further, so “As Americans entered a new century they began to demand change, equality and change and the Progressive Era was conceived.” (The Progressive Era, n.d.) The motto of the current president's first campaign seemed extremely familiar to the Progressive Movement. By the end of the 19th century, the natives were tired of the business as usual system and needed a completely new direction for the country and were also guaranteed “change”. As both eras would learn, there is a barely recognizable difference between change and being frustrated.
