For example we see many fields of society; governmental, educational, cultural and many others. Above all, sociology is the basis for almost all policies and ideas that shape the world in which we find ourselves. For example; Harriet Martineau, the first female sociologist, brought attention to overlooked issues such as marriage, children, domestic and religious life, and race relations. Without this idea, it would always have been a societal problem. Solving arguments goes a long way in making our society a better place. On a personal level it has really changed my view of the world. This allows us to understand paradigms. Structural functionalism was inspired in part by Durkheim, who defined society as a social system, with structures organized in an orderly manner to form an organic and stable whole. This system allows us to understand and accommodate circumstances in order to do so
