Topic > Art Through History - 1812

Introduction: The arts are a way to express yourself, from painting to sculpture and performing. The art of the Renaissance and Reformation period from 1300 to 1650, the age of imperialism from 1800 to 1920, and the contemporary world from 1945 to the present will be compared. While some Renaissance art was about new ideas, the art of the Age of Imperialism was about social status, and the art of the contemporary world was about a broader imagery that is bigger than just one person. Differences in subject matter, techniques, and artists will be explored below. Then begin the body of the document and be sure to include parenthetical citations throughout the body of the document. This assignment requires documentation of your sources, i.e. both parenthetical citations and bibliography according to the MLA format. Document your sources and use the MLA Style Sheet Guidelines handout (Guidance>Research Paper p. 10 + 11). Include parenthetical citations and bibliography What is most concerning is that you have not documented your sources. Documenting sources is extremely important in historical research because everything must be verifiable. You need to have parenthetical citations in the body of the article (maybe 8 or 10) and a bibliography at the end in MLA format. You will also find information on how to do this in the document "What is required - Research Papers". Body of the document: In the Renaissance and Reformation period, 1300-1650, there were three artists who made a great impact on the arts. They were Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti and Raffaello Sanzio and these men created some of the most famous pieces of that time. Leonardo da Vinci Leonardo da Vinci was the Renaissance man. He was a master in the field of painting, sculpture, architecture...... middle of paper......the sculpture is supported by a rope that supports it. Otherwise, the piece would simply fold into a cord and fabric. Overall, these artists are clearly pushing the art to new levels and creating new standards. Conclusion: In conclusion, art is always evolving, changing and is a way to express yourself. Things like subject matter, techniques, and artists have changed dramatically starting in the Renaissance and Reformation periods, then through the Age of Imperialism, and continuing into the contemporary world. From “Sistine Chapel” and “Mona Lisa” to “Starry Night” and “Ninfee”, then to “Coca Cola” and “The Gates” art has been able to progress a lot. This allows artists to create what they like, how they see it, and what style they will use to make it. It's amazing to see such an incredible progression and it should be interesting to see what comes next.
