IntroductionThis research paper will discuss an article published in volume 18 of Gender, Work and Organization (ISSN 0968-6673), in the field of Human Resource Management and employment studies , titled “Are Women in Management Victims of the Ghost of the Male Norm?” (Billing 2011). Yvonne Due Billing is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen. He has more than 60 research contributions published in books/anthologies/reports, working papers and conference contributions (University of Copenhagen 2011). I will first discuss the general approach and rationale. This includes the research question; the topic of the research, its assumptions and hypotheses; and the philosophy of research. Although this research paper can be evaluated in different ways and from different angles, I will focus on the data collection methods. Starting from the literature review (secondary data collection), citations/primary sources, up to the use of theoretical concepts inherited from the literature. Subsequently, the primary data collection method will be evaluated. Finally, some conclusions and recommendations will be offered.
