It's been said that we live in an era where people are looking for more increases on everything, and they're looking for it every single day. One of the most visible political issues in 2014 is the minimum wage. A few weeks ago, President Obama talked about raising the minimum wage. The minimum wage is 7.5 and he wants to increase this number to around 10.10. There is no doubt that this news could bring a lot of happiness to a large number of people and, at the same time, give rise to some social or economic problems. While this news about the minimum wage increase seems like important news for all people who have jobs, some may totally disagree with it. It is a fact that no one would refuse an increase in their working salary, but at the same time some would not approve of this point of view. No one would ever deny that increasing one's money is something that has been sought for a long time. Everyone, who has a full-time or even part-time job, has looked for it. For example, if someone had to work more than seven hours a day and their minimum wage was around $7.50, would that be fair to them? Raising the minimum wage would make many people's lives easier. It would make employees more satisfied and do their best to do their jobs. Another example is when a person gets a bonus, he would feel so happy and it would make him appreciate what he is doing. It is a fact that life's needs have become more expensive than ever and become more difficult to obtain. For example, getting a nice apartment or a nice car has become so difficult for everyone whose minimum wage is around half the paper. For a father or mother who has the responsibility of putting the bride on the family table, it is difficult for them to find another job if they lose their own. There is someone who wants their job at risk. One of the reasons why some of these people would not agree with the idea of raising the minimum wage is that most companies would rely on the technology they installed. While this technology makes our lives better and easier, it could create jobs for others. If we go to some supermarkets, we will see that these supermarkets have replaced human checkouts with computers that can do the same job. What these people point out is that many companies would replace them with technology to improve the state of their economies. If these companies had to pay people more, they would invent technology that would cost them nothing in terms of wages.
