General Health Information Healthcare systems are highly standard in both countries and are progressing to offer the best healthcare services to the population. In Türkiye, the healthcare system has gone through several periods. However, healthcare financing is complex. As it provides five different social health insurances and each of them is beneficial. This has led to inequities among the population as some programs cover broader and higher quality health services. Therefore, in 2006 the program aimed to bring all five schemes together under one insurance under the Law on “Social Insurance and General Health Insurance” (Turkish Health System (2011)). In 2009 there were 833 public hospitals while 556 of these were private. In Turkey, total spending on healthcare will increase to 7.16 billion, equivalent to 9.6 billion of global GDP by 2014.
