The satirical nature highlights that “serious flaws plague society” as well as the idea that “strange and wonderful exploits await those willing to take risks” (Cummings,2012.np). Using allegories, Swift's main character, Gulliver, exposes all kinds of dilemmas including moral, religious, philosophical and scientific situations that relate to Swift's experiences, can in some way be compared to the stories and parables in the Bible as they encourage the reader to consider them illustrations of the truth, or fables to be rejected.
