“A father can turn his back on his son, brothers and sisters can become enemies, husbands can abandon their wives and vice versa, but a mother's love resists everything” , as was once said of Washington Irving. A mother endures a lot of pain throughout her life, from the time her baby is in the womb until her deathbed. Nothing in the world can repay the sacrifices made by mothers, which make them one of a kind. The archetype of a mother is always represented in the characters as someone who makes sacrifices, has unconditional love and protects her child. Mothers make sacrifices without a second thought for their child's well-being, as shown in Jaycee Lee Dugard's documentary Room and The Help. As depicted in Room by Emma Donoghue, Jack's mother Ma sacrificed her safety to help her son Jack escape 5 years of imprisonment in the shed and ultimately succeeded. “I think what I saw was Outside, Outside is real and so bright,” Jack eventually escaped and found help to save his mother. A similar incident appeared in the documentary of Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was kidnapped at the age of eleven and raped. Jaycee Lee Dugard gave birth twice, and for the betterment of her children's lives, Jaycee sacrificed her safety to escape. "Ma" and Jaycee Lee's children have given their mothers hope to continue surviving after traumatic incidents. Sacrifice is also shown in the movie The Help where African American women sacrifice a lot for little pay to provide for their family and children. This can also be seen in modern times where women do whatever it takes to raise their children. This proves that sacrifice is a must when it comes to motherhood.
