The giraffe, diamond python and Tasmanian devil are all part of the animal kingdom. All animals must reproduce for their species to survive. Although they have different ways of reproducing, the main point is to have offspring. All animals do this to exist. The animals in this report are the diamond python (Morelia Spilota), the giraffe (Giraffa Camelopardalis) and the Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii). The gestation period is the time spent in the mother's womb from conception to birth. Both giraffes and Tasmanian devils are mammals and gestate, but snakes lay eggs where the baby develops. The Tasmanian devil and giraffe are both mammals, which means they give birth to live young and nurse their young. Diamond pythons lay their eggs so they do not develop in the uterus, instead the egg is developed in the mother and then laid, then the fetus is produced in the egg. The diamond python is a reptile snake. It is native to Australia and lives in forests and urban areas. It is a subspecies of carpet python that is very similar in weight and size but has different patterns. The diamond python has a diamond pattern, black with cream-white diamonds. The average size of adults is 2 meters and their weight is 2-5 kg. They prey on small mammals, birds and small reptiles. The diamond python wraps itself around its prey and asphyxiates the animals, then swallows it whole. The diamond python is an oviparous animal, that is, it lays eggs and the embryo does not develop inside the mother. When snakes mate, the male has hemipenes that fertilize the eggs inside the mother snake. Then, once the ovules have been fertilized, the eggs begin to develop and come out of the cloaca which is the common cavity where it expels and mates. The python then wraps around a...... medium of paper......Giraffe | Taronga Conservation Society Australia In text: (Taronga.org.au, 2014) Bibliography: Taronga.org.au, (2014).
