Overview“There is perhaps no other group in the world that has such a diverse and rich culture as that of the Native Americans. With their golden history, rich in conflicts, struggles and triumphs, Native American culture is very colorful indeed” (Bantwal). Native American culture is very diverse and has a very colorful history. It is extremely diverse and in fact the term Native American is a broad term used to cover all native tribes in America. Throughout history there have been conflicts not only between different tribes, but also numerous fights against white men. Much of the fighting between Native Americans and white men was due to misunderstanding, mistrust, and miscommunication. Many thousands of years ago “the nomadic ancestors of modern Native Americans who walked a “land bridge” from Asia to what is now Alaska” (History.com). Once they reached Alaska, they slowly spread across the continent of North America. They have spread out and separated into different tribes that all have many of the same core ideas, but the main thing that separates them is their location in the country. There are Indians from the Plains, the Pacific Coast, the Southwest, and the Northeast, and also from several locations. A main idea, more or less the same for each tribe, is the closeness and respect they show for the land they live on. The history of Native Americans as a whole is marked by conflict. Conflicts between tribes were very common and occurred due to land disputes or simply due to the close proximity of the tribes. But when white men entered the scene, this is where miscommunication and mistrust came into play.
